“The Respectful Leader: Seven Ways to Influence Without Intimidation” by Gregg Ward wins gold medal from the Axiom Business Book Awards
SAN DIEGO, CA — “The Respectful Leader: Seven Ways to Influence Without Intimidation” by Gregg Ward has won a gold medal in the Business Fable category from the Axiom Business Book Awards, the largest and most respected critical guidepost for business books in today’s new world of publishing.
“Respect in the workplace has to be learned, practiced, and we all need to be held accountable for it,” says Axiom Awards Director, Jim Barnes. “This story has an emotional impact that may bring you to tears and will definitely leave a lasting impression.”
Ward says the communication tools and techniques discussed in the book are especially relevant in today’s volatile political culture.
“When we first launched ‘The Respectful Leader,’ data was already showing an uptick in incivility in the workplace. Over the past year, political debates have escalated, creating increased tension and disrespectful behavior between coworkers. Most recently, the rise of #MeToo and #TimesUp movements are calling attention to sexual harassment issues and demanding action,” says Ward. “‘The Respectful Leader’ serves as a guidebook for leaders who share a desire to transform toxic, intimidating work environments into positive, supportive ones.”
Now in its eleventh year, the Axiom awards serve as the premier business book list, presented in 22 categories to help readers discover new and innovative works. According to Barnes, the Axiom Business Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary business book authors who inspire and provide valuable tools to help readers improve their careers and businesses.
“Axiom Award-winning books will help readers understand changing trends and technologies affecting the business world and point out opportunities in our complicated new economy,” says Barnes.
